What is Consumer Credit Reporting?

The Consumer Credit Reporting Industry is more widespread than you may think. Did you know that there are over five hundred (500) consumer reporting agencies (CRAs) in the United States? The reason is that Americans have over one (1) billion credit cards in their wallets. So, in a nutshell it is safe to say that the consumer reporting industry is big business.

In the past, I've written about jury verdicts on the FCRA, getting back your credit after bankruptcy and fraud alerts under the FCRA. The purpose of this blog is to shed some light on a very mysterious part of the law. At no time in the history of man has the credit reporting industry held more control over a person's life. In other words, now more than ever, what is contained in your credit profile is more important than ever before.

In the blogs to come, we will analyze what credit reporting is?. Where it came from? How it affects your daily life? What you can do to help yourself? and What you can do to protect yourself?

I hope you will stick around for the ride.
